THE MORNING CALL  BRINGS AN ART CONTEST AND KIDS’ CRAFT BOOTH TO THE CARBON COUNTY FAIR
Children 12 and under can win a pizza and ice cream party for themselves and 10 friends.

ALLENTOWN, Pa., July 12, 2010 – The Morning Call, the Lehigh Valley’s primary source of news and information, and publisher of The Morning Call newspaper and themorningcall.com website, will be present at the Carbon County Fair, Aug. 11 – 15, Lehighton, Pa., with a booth in the Community Tent that will include a craft station for kids.

Prior to the event, children 12 and under can exercise their artistic talents and enter a contest sponsored by The Morning Call, by submitting a piece of art work illustrating the fair’s theme: “Envisioning the Future.” The art work can be sent to The Morning Call at 101 N. Sixth St., Allentown, PA, 18101, Attn: Marketing, or dropped off at The Morning Call booth at the fair. The deadline for entries in either form is 5 p.m., Thursday, Aug. 12, 2010.

Artists from The Morning Call newspaper will judge the entries on site at the fair on Friday, Aug. 13. Winners are eligible for five prizes, including a grand prize of a pizza and ice cream party for the winner and 10 friends at Blue Mountain Drive-In, Danielsville. This prize will be chosen from all age categories.

Three age-category prizes will also be awarded: For age 5 and under; ages 6-8; and ages 9-12. Each winner in these categories will receive a prize pack with items from The Morning Call “prize vault,” including Crayola art supplies.

A People’s Choice Award will be selected by fair visitors among all the children’s entries to the contest. All entries will be on display during the fair at The Morning Call booth, where a free hands-on craft activity will be also available during fair hours.
