DEMOLITION DERBY INFO
There is a $5 charge for all persons age 6 and older to enter this event
Each year more than 1500 spectators have packed the seats in the arena to cheer on their favorite driver in the demolition derby. This year there are another 500 seats to fill, according to Bob Silliman, President of the Fair Association. He noted that, “in prior years, for safety reasons, we had to close the arena to some spectators because our seating was limited. This should not be a concern this year since we’ve added the additional seats.” There are two derbies scheduled for this year’s Carbon County Fair, one on Thursday evening, August 12th and the other on Sunday evening, August 15th.
The derby on Thursday begins at 7 PM and will involve four and six
cylinder small cars in an exciting Figure 8 event.
The crossover in the Figure 8 proves to be the most
challenging part of the event.
In addition, there will be a full field of 4
cylinder small cars that will duel
until the last moving car is declared the winner.
These drivers mean business and each one of them
wants to take home the “big purse”, trophy and bragging
rights. There is
no doubt that the metal and mud will be flying.
The grand finale of
the derbies on Sunday evening August 15th will
begin at 5
The Carbon County Fair is known to pay out some of
the biggest purses in the circuit.
Team this up with the largest trophies and bragging
rights and these guys will stop at nothing to win!
Bring the entire family for a night of excitement and
you will want to return year after year.
