The Carbon County Lion/Lioness Fair Association, Inc. was created in January 1999. The Association is comprised of the Bowmanstown/Parryville Lions, Franklin Township Lions, Lehighton Lions, Lehighton Lioness Lions, Mahoning Lions, Palmerton Lions, West Penn Lions and the Jim Thorpe Lioness Clubs. The Association evolved and became incorporated in June 1999. The Association is a Non-Profit Organization that was created with its sole purpose being to reincarnate a Fair in Carbon County . The Association wanted to reinstate a Fair to benefit the hard-working youth in Carbon County. We wanted to create a Fair that would showcase the Carbon County 4-H and provide those kids with the recognition and positive reinforcement that they so greatly deserve. Also, the Fair will help the eight participating Lion and Lioness Clubs raise funds to be distributed in their respective communities for their sight, diabetes awareness and other worthwhile programs.
In our eighth year now, the Carbon County Lion/Lioness Fair Association, Inc. would like to thank everyone for supporting our efforts, especially those businesses who are Major Fair Sponsors.
Re-establishing a Fair in Carbon County was a huge task. Only through faith in ourselves and Carbon County and West Penn Township, Schuylkill County residents' and businesses' faith in the Lion and Lioness Organizations, were we able to reinstate the Fair for the deserving youth of our County. In 2001, the association expanded the Open Classes of the judged exhibits to increase competition by including West Penn Township, Schuylkill County residents. The Association feels a great sense of accomplishment in producing this Fair. We hope that everyone enjoys their visit to the Carbon County Fair.
